Ayurveda Vaidya hailing from a traditional Ayurveda family, Punarnava
Ayurveda in Coimbatore - South India is Ayurveda born anew to suit its
contemporary role, with no compromise on the valued qualities of tradition. It
has a Vision of “Authentic Ayurveda for Universal Well-being”. Establishing an
Ayurveda Village in the outskirts of Coimbatore has been one of the activities
in pursuit of the objective. For this Vision with which Punarnava Ayurveda has

healing spaces, several small hospitals, each under the guidance of one
Vaidya, your senior Ayurveda Physician, who will be third-generation Ayurveda
practitioners.

Its clusters will have a maximum of twelve rooms under one
Physician, thus ensuring a stress-free
ambience of being, for the healer as well as the patient.

It will be the first ‘Green’
Ayurveda hospital, environment-friendly
in utilizing concepts of renewable energy, as solar energy, wind energy,
bio-mass, waste water recycling and management; as also in its construction
with a minimum of cement and steel, and more of natural products. It will thus have minimum pollutants in the campus, thus maintaining the air &
ambience, pure and healthy.

Being created with the strong basis of traditional Indian knowledge systems as Vasthu Shastra – the Indian architectural science, ,
vaidyagrAma will be traditional Ayurveda catering the best way to the modern

vaidyagrAma are in concurrence with the modern architectural norms, as also
keeping with the ancient Vasthu Shastra norms as approved by veteran expert
from Kerala, Kanippayyoor Narayanan Namboodiri.

Use of Solar Energy – Solar energy is energy from the Sun
in the form of radiated heat
and light. It drives the climate and weather and supports life
on Earth. Solar energy technologies make controlled use of this energy
resource. At vaidyagrAma, there will be use of solar energy for heating,
lighting as well as cooking. It will be used in the kitchen, for street lights,
as well as for water heaters etc. Even Solar torches and solar re-chargers, for
electrical appliances and even vehicles, are thought of for use in vaidyagrAma.

Use of Wind Energy – Wind power is the conversion of wind energy into useful form, such as electricity,
using wind turbines. A suitable wind turbine will be
installed to cater to the needs of vaidyagrAma;
and it will be used for generating electricity, thus putting Nature’s
resources to use. Wind energy is plentiful, renewable, widely distributed, clean, and reduces
greenhouse gas
emissions.

Use of Biomass - Biomass
refers to biological material
that can be used as fuel. Most commonly, biomass refers to plant matter grown
for use as biofuel. Biomass may also include biodegradable wastes
that can be burnt as fuel. Burning biomass, or the fuel products produced from
it, may be used for heat or electricity production. It will be one of the
natural modes for fuel used in vaidyagrAma kitchens.
§
Water Management - Water management is the practice of planning, developing, distribution
and optimum utilizing of water resources - The treatment
of drinking water, industrial water, sewage or wastewater management,
water recycling. A water consultant is prescribing the best course of action
towards this endeavour, during construction as well as during maintenance in
vaidyagrAma.
§
Water conservation refers to
reducing use of fresh water, through technological or social methods.The goals
of water conservation efforts include Sustainability ( To ensure availability for
future generations, the withdrawal of fresh water from an ecosystem should not
exceed its natural replacement rate), Energy conservation
(Water pumping, delivery, and wastewater treatment facilities consume a
significant amount of energy), Habitat conservation
(Minimizing human water use helps to preserve fresh water habitats for local
wildlife and migrating waterfowl, as well as reducing the need to build new dams
and other water diversion infrastructure) .
§
Rainwater
harvesting is the gathering, or accumulating and
storing, of rainwater. Natural means like planting of trees to avoid soil
erosion, as well as other modes like preparing trenches for rainwater
processing are thought of, for vaidyagrAma.
§
As part of being environment-friendly, vaidyagrAma will have a pollution-free ambience – There will be
no vehicle from outside that will be allowed in the premises. The pollution
–free, no petrol, rechargeable vehicles will be used for conveyance in the
campus.

VaidyagrAma will have its organic
cultivation of trees and plants, including vegetables as well as herbal
medicines. Towards that plants are already being grown in the land in the most
natural way, using natural manures and bio-pesticides.

In keeping with the specifications given in classical Ayurveda
texts, a specially prepared herbal Kashayam will be mixed with the natural building materials in construction, which is most ideal in
terms of a treatment place as well as in terms of being most natural.
§
With the usage of natural mud & binders available, the effort
is to reduce the usage of cement
upto 3%. A herbal
termite treatment is given, thus making even the construction, most
eco-friendly as possible.
§
The construction will be such that there is maximum usage of daylight as well as natural breeze in the buildings. It will thus
help in preservation of electrical energy.
§
To further the reduction of consumption of Electrical energy, LED lighting will be utilized.
§
vaidyagrAma will be saving
resources of Nature, further by avoiding
use of Plastic in all ways, and replacing it with natural products.
§
vaidyagrAma will also see
usage of recycled paper, thus
supporting the cause of saving a tree from being cut, for making paper.
§
The construction will be
done only in less than 30% of the total area of over 16 acres, thus maintaining
the connect with the Earth, thus devoting area to cultivation also.
§
Primarily catering to patients, vaidyagrAma will be keep the construction on the ground level.
§
The cultivation at
vaidyagrAma is done by planting herbal, aromatic as well as flowering plants
and trees – even the spaces specified for each of these, like the flowering
ones on pathways, the trees on the borders etc.
In this self-sufficient Green healing center, special care will be
given to facilitate a most natural,
stress-free life for the patients as well as the healers and the whole of
vaidyagrAma team.

It is with that objective that a most natural setting is created,
which would be most ideal for healing.

It is thus that the Physician is also given responsibility of care
of a cluster, thus ensuring stress-free, personalized care of a group of
patients therein.

encourage usage of communication gadgets as mobile phones and computers, by
patients, which would help the patient to be more involved in the process of
Ayurveda healing, which in turn would facilitate a happy healing.
